Our first card to the Netherlands

Olga and Jeaneth have sent this emblematic photo of the botafumeiro to the Netherlands.

Unfortunately we don't have the backside of the card to share the message, but we do have this wonderful photo of both ladies at work.  Nice to see such enthusiastic postcrossers.

The history behind Easter postcards

Easter is around the corner and there is much to learn about the tradition of sending cards at this time. There are also lots of links like this one where you can see some beautiful vintage Easter postcards.  What about you? Do you send postcards or other types of written greetings at this time? What images are usually depicted on them in your culture?  Is it the Easter bunny?  Why not post a comment with your family's tradition or the tradition in your country.  We'd love to hear from you.

Charming postcard from St. Petersburg, Russia

Today was a lucky day as we received three postcards!  This one is our first ever from Russia and depicts a charming painted scene of Saint Petersburg.

Today we got a card written in French.

Last week we got our first card written in German and today we got the first one in French.  Our EOI students studying French will be sure to enjoy reading these as well. How wonderful to be sharing so many languages.

Our second postcard from the USA arrived today!

Ruth from Minnesota, "the land of lakes and forests", has sent us this spectacular scenic  view taken on the Appalachian trail.  Just look at the colors.  She tells us quite a bit about her likes and about Minnesota. Lovely card and the stamps are fantastic as well.

Another card is off, this time to South Africa

Barry in Cape Town will appreciate this lovely single aerial view of our amazing cathedral that Fernando and Gemma have chosen.  This is our first card to go to Africa and with it we are continuing to travel the globe as you can see with our Map Tracker tab.

And here's Fernando proud of his postcard and of using his English!  Thanks for your effort!

Paula in Portugal will be thrilled to receive this card from us.

Inés and Helen are sure to make Paula's day with this postcard of the classic view of the Cathedral in Santiago.  And since she collects postcards of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, she will surely love this one.  Thanks ladies!.

Great start to the weekend with two postcards received

Roman and Petra have sent us this beautiful postcard from the Czech Republic.  The stamp is equally as beautiful.

We also received this one written in German from Sabine, our postcrossing friend from Oberhausen
